Pro tips
Specificity beats volume. Vague prompts produce vague hooks. Describe the emotion, friction, or moment — not just the subject. The more tension you can name, the harder your hook hits.
Tone changes everything. The tone toggle (Calm, Bold, Curious, Funny, Inspiring) shifts the output more than you'd expect. Run the same topic through three tones before you pick one to post.
Refine before regenerating. If you already have a hook in your head, paste it into Refine first. HookForge will sharpen it faster than starting from scratch.
Steal from yourself. Old hooks that crushed are template gold. Vault them and remix the structure for new topics — patterns that worked once usually work again.
What each feature does
- Hooks — You have a topic, scenario, or moment. HookForge gives you 5 distinct openers engineered to stop scrolls.
- Ideas — You have a tool, location, or situation but no topic. HookForge generates 5 video concepts with the hook, angle, why it works, and how to shoot it.
- Story — You have a full scenario (a specific moment, conflict, or experience). HookForge renders it into 5 distinct angles: Curiosity, Statement, POV, Opinion, and Raw.
- Refine — You already have a hook. Analyze gives you a strategic breakdown (strengths, weaknesses, alternate angles). Improve rewrites it stronger with three differently-angled alternatives.
- Vault — Your library. Save everything, pin the best, schedule on the daily calendar, and the streak counter keeps you accountable without spam notifications.
Common questions
What do I type in the topic field?
Describe your video like you're telling a friend about it. A specific scenario works best — “I tested the viral $8 moisturizer for 30 days” beats “skincare routine.” The more tension or emotion you can hint at, the sharper the hook.
What's the difference between Hooks, Ideas, and Story?
Hooks: you know your topic, need a strong opener. Ideas: you don't know what to film, give context and get a concept with the hook built in. Story: you have a textured scenario and want it rendered into multiple psychological angles you can choose from.
Will the same prompt give me the same output twice?
No. The AI has built-in variation. Run the same prompt twice and you'll get different angles — intentional. Good for testing which version feels right that day.
Can I save unlimited hooks?
Pro subscribers can save unlimited to the Vault. Free tier has a cap on saved hooks. Generated hooks always stay visible during your session regardless of tier.
Does HookForge work for any niche?
Yes. It's built around the mechanics of attention, not the subject matter. Cars, fitness, finance, beauty, cooking, tech, real estate — all work the same way.
How do I cancel my subscription?
iOS Settings → tap your name → Subscriptions → HookForge → Cancel. All subscription management goes through Apple. You keep access through the end of the period you already paid for.
